Take a Break From Everyday
Well, spring is in my throat. Yes, that's right, I woke up this morning with the nastiest feeling (completely unrelated to the Taco Bell I ate for dinner) that always heralds the return of pollen, I mean Persephone. Sore throat, coughing up bits of "stuff," but none of the aggravating fever hallucinations I enjoy so much. Poops.
I shall break with tradition today and not moan and complain about everything going wrong in my life. Sorry to disappoint... Today I will take stock of all the good things in my world.
For instance, my burns have healed up quite nicely. And my hair is growing back in. Yea! for me. You can still tell that something happened if you look real close, but most people lose interest before that happens. (Side note: it turns out that-surprise, surprise-my oven is broken! Thank God for Microwaves and Toaster Ovens)
My Maconversion is now complete. That's right, I bought an iBook! Oh, the majesty of Panther... It feels very good to come back to Apple (I grew up on IIe, IIc and LCII). I'm not actually writing this post on my iBook because I keep it locked away. Yes, we must protect our precious... nasty tricksy Hobbits try to takes it... we won't lets them...
Spring break is a mere 5 days away, and while I don't anticipate any trips or wild, Facts-of-Life-girls-go-to-Australia kind of hijinks, it will be nice to not have to come to work for a bit.
Let's see, what else... well, I'm still single, but I don't feel as lonely as I used to. Or, I do but I don't whine about it as much. Or, I do but I only think it. Yeah, I'm making real progress now.
Hmmm, is that it? Yeah, I guess it might be. Oh, wait, no! I saw an indie rock show last week. Very cool. Same Day Service played a rare Norman show, and it was nice to see the Rimassa girls again. Also a Brit punk outfit called Shotgun Democracy played. Yeah, they rocked. I bought their CD for $1 (which I suppose won't even buy them a bag of crisps when they get back home). Total D.I.Y. effort burned on computer, it looked like, no label, sold in a paper sleeve and the singer wrote the bands website address on the paper. Very cool. I'm gonna make it a habit to see one indie band per week, at least.
Yeah, life is good sometimes. Kind of wish it would rain though, and knock some of this pollen and other crap out of the air for a while...

Give up on that Rimassa sandwich Fidel, it ain't happenin'. God what a fruitless endevor. I wish I had back those four years of tryin and cryin. But on that note lets remember and ruminate over those wise words from Mike Watt "Punk is only cool as long as you grow out of it." Or as Nietzsche put it "some are born postumosly" which led to my comment "Nietzsche is peachy" So lets not turn into lecherous old fools like Tom Cruise, or rather the heterosexual equivilent.
